For You and Your Family

Claim Without Wills

When a loved one dies without leaving a will, their estate is dealt with under the Intestacy Rules. These rules clearly set out who can benefit from a person's estate. An Administrator is appointed to collect the assets and then distribute them in accordance with those rules.

Sadly, there are situations where, due to family conflict, the rightful beneficiary (the person or persons who should benefit from the estate) is concerned that they will be excluded or that they will not receive the amount or share that they are due.

At BakerLaw we are experienced in dealing with such claims and are sensitive to the fact that family are involved and that this is a stressful time. We ensure that the advice we give is clear so that you can make an informed decision as to how you want to proceed.

If your claim is valid and successful we may be able to claim your legal fees from the estate in addition to the amount you claim.

If you are not sure if you have a valid claim, please call us for free initial advice.
