Defending Estates

Defending Estates

There are occasions where the Executors (those responsible for collecting in a person's estate and distributing it in accordance with the will) find themselves on the receiving end of court proceedings which are complex and indeed it can be a frightening experience having regard to the duties on them as Executors.

At BakerLaw, we have a proven track record in defending estates. It may be that the claim has no merit at all or perhaps the person making the claim indeed has a legal right to do so and therefore protecting the estate by paying out the least amount is important to ensure there are funds to pay the loved ones requested beneficiaries under the will.

It is imperative that legal advice is taken on these matters as a matter of urgency. Proceedings often are served with little notice and there are tight court deadlines to adhere to. If you are not sure whether you need legal advice, please do not hesitate to contact us for free initial advice.
