We have an excellent opportunity for a skilled Administrative Assistant within our Private Client Department at our well-established law firm in Farnham, Surrey.
The team & the candidate
At BakerLaw, our Private Client team has grown significantly over recent years, due to increased demand in the local area for our assistance, skills and expertise.
We are looking for an experienced Administrative Assistant to join the team. The ideal candidate will be someone with previous experience working within a law firm, and experience in dealing with Private Client work (Wills and Powers of Attorney) would be preferable, but is not essential. A confident telephone manner will be a key attribute to success in this role.

Requirements
The role will be based within our Private Client department and will involve responsibIlity for a range of administrative tasks, supporting the whole Private Client team.
Main responsibilities include:
- Liaising with clients via telephone, email and in person.
- Fielding initial enquiries relating to Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney.
- Summarising and presenting enquiry details to all fee earners for allocation and quote, and scheduling initial appointments.
- Drafting client engagement documents for new instructions.
- Carrying out electronic ID checks on new clients using third-party software.
- Dealing with requests for release of original documents.
- Updating databases of client and document records.
- Assisting with transcription of digital dictation from fee earners when required.
- General administrative duties such as copying, scanning and filing.
- Closing and archiving files.
